TIPS
I have decided to make a tips section, not a walkthroughs section. Here are some tips, that I and my friends have found. Some of them are pretty obvious but still. I hope you will find them useful.
1 If you have problems with a lack of workers, try making the wages higher. This always helps.
2 Always build a Sanctuary to Athena, whenever it is possible. She will protect your city, no matter how many the bellicose soldiers are.
3 Dont depend on Ares to defend your city. His Dragon is pretty slow and fails to appear a lot of times.
4 Try saving your monuments for a time when you are going to build Elite housing.
5 Recreational areas raise the appeal more than Beautification.
6 Wheat is better than cheese
7 Grouping storage buildings and industry buildings is not always smart. If the storage buildings are too far from the main city, Angoras wont buy any products.
8 Sanctuaries dont raise the appeal.
9 It is not very good to keep theaters and gyms near houses.
10 Dont underestimate the taxes. They are really important and can get you a lot of money. Sometimes it is possible to have a positive cash balance without trading.
11 You start a colony with the money you have from the previous episode in your parent city. My advice is to wait before you finish the episode with the parent city untul you have more money - 6000+
12 During the second adventure, trading is impossible at the early stages in the colony city Miletos. This is because you are attacked by Kraken and all trading routes are by sea. This means that you will have to raise your money by taxes and mints only!
13 You can produce small quantities of olives by building a sanctuary to Athena.
14 Hint: After you move from Argos to a colony Miletos is easier. But make sure that you have enough money before you play any of the two. Dont worry about missing one of them though. You will have the chance to paly them both!
15 Use rabbles to keep the Kraken away from your buildings.
16 You can kill monsters without calling a hero. A lot of rabbles or hoplites will do!
17 Use barter instead of paying for some goods. For example: you need statues, the city that sells them needs fleece. You give that city 16 Skeins of fleece and they will like you more. Then you will be able to request what you need. It is much cheaper this way and it always works!!
